GimmeChords is an app by AE-Software Developer that detects the chords of songs. It is designed to work on your phone without sending your music to any server.

01Data that stays on your phone

  • Songs you pick: copied into the app's private storage and analysed on the device.
  • Microphone: only while you use "Listen", the tuner or play along with YouTube, to detect chords or tuning live. The audio is not sent anywhere.
  • Your recordings: stored in the app's private storage.
  • Results and corrections: chords, tempo and key are kept so a song is never analysed twice.
  • Settings and the daily analysis counter of the free plan.

None of this data is transmitted to us or to third parties.

02What we don't do

We have no servers that receive your audio. We don't copy, share or publish your songs or recordings. No user accounts, analytics, advertising or cross-app tracking.

03Third-party services

YouTube (Google). Videos play in YouTube's official embedded player. While you use it, YouTube may receive data under its privacy policy. GimmeChords never downloads or stores YouTube audio; it keeps only the detected chords, keyed by video id, on your phone.

Purchases (Google Play / App Store, through RevenueCat). If you buy Pro, the store processes the payment. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user id and purchase status to know whether Pro is active (RevenueCat policy). We never see your payment details.

04Sharing

When you choose to share chords (WhatsApp, email…), only the chord text or file you decide to send is shared, never audio.

05Your controls

Delete any song or recording from the app's library. Uninstalling removes all app data from the phone. Since we keep none of your data on servers, there is nothing else to delete on our side.

06Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
