Terms of use

These terms govern the use of the GimmeChords app, developed by AE-Software Developer. By installing or using the app you accept them.

01The app

GimmeChords detects the chords of songs to help you play them. Analysis happens on your device: the app doesn't upload, store on servers or distribute the audio you analyse.

02Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you control, for personal use and music practice. You may not resell the app, decompile it except where the law allows, or use it to infringe the rights of others.

03Your music and copyright

You choose what audio you analyse, and you are responsible for having the right to use the music you open or record with the app.

Because all processing happens on your phone, GimmeChords doesn't copy, publish or share your songs. The detected chords and anything you share from the app (such as a chord sheet) stay under your control: share them respecting the rights of the authors.

04YouTube

The YouTube feature uses the official embedded player and is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. The app never downloads or stores video audio.

05GimmeChords Pro and subscriptions

  • Pro is offered as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price is shown in the store before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before, from the subscription settings of Google Play or the App Store.
  • If the offer includes a free trial, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before.
  • Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by the store under its own policies.
  • The free plan includes a limited number of analyses per day; limits may change with notice in the app.

On iPhone and iPad, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.

06Accuracy

Automatic chord detection is an estimate and may contain mistakes, especially with noisy recordings or dense mixes. You can fix any chord with the editor.

07Warranty and liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not liable for indirect damages arising from its use. Nothing here limits your rights under the consumer law of your country.

08Changes

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be noted in the app or on this page, with the new date.
